DID YOU KNOW?
There are Two Million high school seniors competing in varsity sports each year. Only 5% will participate in athletics at a NCAA Division 1 or 2 university, less than half of those with any kind of athletic scholarship. The remainder have to stop playing their sport even though they have the talent to compete at the next level because of academic, financial or other reasons.
BUT, THERE ARE OTHER OPTIONS
There are over 500 two year trade schools, community and junior colleges, all across the country, that provide training for the skilled trades and compete in intercollegiate athletics. Most have open enrollment and have low cost tuition (in many states tuition can be free). Scholarships and grants are also available.
PLAYING AT THE NEXT LEVEL
Playing intercollegiate athletics at a two-year school will provide more exposure and more film for your student-athlete to gain the opportunity to continue on to a 4-year college. Everyone on the roster is a freshman or sophomore, so they don't have to compete with upperclassmen for playing time. They will have the opportunity to improve their academics to meet the entrance and eligibility requirements of a 4-year school, all while earning an Associate's degree or certification in a high paying and in demand skill.
